On the sidelines of D-8 conference held today in Tehran, Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh declared the formation of Iran-Turkey strategic cooperation council, saying that the trade between the two countries will reach $30 billion in next few years.
Last year, due to banking sanctions, Iran couldn’t reach its desired developmental goals, he said, adding that negotiations were expected to lead to better cooperation between Iran and other countries.
On the car industry, the official stressed the great capabilities of both countries and expressed hope for boost in Iran-Turkey healthy cooperation. “Iran and Turkey can participate in producing national cars," Nematzadeh said. "Turkey meanwhile can provide Iran with auto parts manufacture and investment,” he added.
Nematzadeh emphasized that all foreign investors are welcomed by Iranian government and Turkish investors can benefit from Iran’s market and industry as well.
The official also publicized the talks between Tehran and Istanbul to establish a joint industrial site in Iran.
