ME greatest cleaning ship to be launched in Hormozgan

BANDAR ABBAS, Jan. 14 (MNA) – General Head of Hormozgan Province Department of Ports and Maritime Organization declared that 5 great water surface cleaning ships, 6 ferries and 2 rescue ships were under construction to be launched by March, 2015, in Bandar Abbas.

Ebrahim Ideni said the production process has started three years ago under the order of PMO and with the aim of supporting internal maritime industries.

The ships are built by ISOICO (Iran Ship Building and Offshore Industries Complex), Madkandaloo Ship Building Company of Qeshm, and Kish Maritime Industries, he added.

The official emphasized that ‘Darya Pak 1’ is the greatest water surface cleaning ship in the Middle East. The ship, designed to clear oil pollutions and spills, will be launched until mid-February, 2015.

‘Darya Pak 1’ has a waterline of 4 meters and speeds up to 16 knots and has the capacity of cleaning 1,200 CUM.
