Deputy-FM urges Bahrain govt. to take warnings seriously

TEHRAN, Jan. 06 (MNA) – Deputy-FM for Arab and African Affairs urged Bahraini regime to understand the sensitive and complicated conditions in the region and take warnings of the political, religious and benevolent regional authorities seriously.

In response to the extended detention of Sheikh Salman, Deputy-FM for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian demanded Bahrain’s government to take an immediate action in releasing Sheikh Ali Salman, prominent leader of the Bahrain’s main opposition bloc, the al-Wefaq Party.

“Violation of human rights and continuation of such measures by Bahrain government gives undoubtedly the green light to the extremists complicating the security in Bahrain and the region,” Amir-Abdollahian underlined.

Iran’s Deputy-FM expressed concern over the continued repression and violence in Bahrain, saying that such measures made believers in the national dialogue and democratic solutions disappointed and would push the country toward further crisis which will not be in favor of any party.

Pointing out that the detention of Sheikh Ali Salman indicated a serious crisis in the country, Amir-Abdollahian reiterated that Tehran calls for a political solution to the crisis and the real national dialogue in Bahrain.
