Iranian psychologist appointed to INAS eligibility cmte.

TEHRAN, Dec. 08 (MNA) – Seyyed Mohammad Vaez Mousavi has been appointed as member of the eligibility committee for the International Sports Federation for Persons with Intellectual Disability (INAS-FID).

“The committee is consisted of four psychologists in charge of determining all aspects of policy and procedure regarding eligibility for athletes with an intellectual disability and providing expert guidelines on all matters relating to eligibility,” said Vaez Mousavi.

“I had been former member of the eligibility panel of 12 psychologists around the world. The panel determines the eligibility of athletes for participation in international competitions,” he added.

He also noted that the eligibility committee enjoyed a higher status than the eligibility panel; “the three other psychologists for the committee are from France, Britain and Australia. Considering the large number of professional psychologists eligible for this position, having been selected as one of the four members of this committee is a great honor for each of the member countries,” said Vaez Mousavi.

Established in 1985, INAS is based in Britain, but is supported by a huge volunteer workforce from around the world. It is an international charity and the recognized International Federation (IOSD) for athletes with an intellectual disability. It is a global organization that promotes inclusion through sport.
