JEDDAH, July 8 (Mehr News Agency) – Iran’s permanent representative to the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Mohammad-Kazem Akhavan here Tuesday met the OIC Secretary-General Abdelouahed Beklkeziz to discuss issues of mutual concern.

Akhavan thanked Beklkeziz on behalf of the Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi for the efforts of the OIC Secretariat for successfully holding the recent the organization's ministerial summit in Tehran.

 

He also briefed the OIC chief on Iran's efforts as the chairman of the summit, and voiced Iran's readiness to implement the resolutions of the ministers of Islamic countries drafted during the summit. 

 

Akhavan also said that Iran is ready to cooperate with the OIC Secretariat in that connection and to endeavor to promote solidarity among Muslim nations.

 

Beklkeziz, for his part, appreciated Iran's efforts for successfully holding the summit, and stressed the Secretariat's readiness to cooperate with Iran in its programs as the chair of the organization's ministerial summit.

 

He also lauded Iran's efforts for its role in the reconstruction of Afghanistan.
