Hussein Ali Husseini said that “after some time from our arrest, we demanded the Quran from the kidnappers.”
“When we insisted one of the kidnappers to bring us the Holy Book, some of the detainees read the Quran in such sweet voice that it affected the kidnappers and they started to cry quietly,” Ali Husseini said.
He added that in the days of incarceration he found out what negative effects enemy propaganda, especially by Al Jazeera and Al Arabiya, have had on public opinion in other countries regarding Iran and Shiism.
He also said “most of the kidnappers I saw didn’t know Iranians and the Shiite. Their information about Iran was only lies that the hireling media had given them.”
He said that in the final days things developed so that their chiefs and commanders would come one by one and ask the Quran to be read to them.
He accounted that “one of our companies had a Haj booking. We asked them at least to free him so that he could attend his Haj pilgrimage for which he had so long waited. But they were so ignorant and had been so indoctrinated that they would ask us do the Iranian Shiite go to Haj at all.”
‘Under torture we experienced “all goes blank”’
Ali Hosseini also said that some of the kids had time to escape but they consulted the Quran and a verse came meaning ‘Be patient and resist, victory is close by.’”
“We had this idiom that says ‘all went blank’. Under torture and blows, landed on our face we experienced the idiom a lot. Blows would come to our head when all would really go blank,” he continued.
We held the Ahya, Tasu’a, and Ashura rites
The released Iranian added “despite all pressures and hardships, we tried not to forget recourse to the Holy Imams and to keep our spirits by holding religious rites and occasions.”
“We held the Ahya Eve ceremony with only one Quran and when we must have put Qurans on our head we only put our bare hand hoping that God may take our hands,” he said.
“In the days of Eid (religious celebrations), we would scramble bread crumbles and let that there was pastry. Although most of the Eids started with crying and recourse to our Holy Imams it would leave a fine effect on all of our spirits,” he accounted.
The kidnappers would use 3 of us as human defense shields
“Some days, after our arrest, the kidnappers took away three of us to use as human defense shield against Syrian Army raids on their strongholds,” said.
“When they took the three I think their martyrdom was also announced, but God willed it so that they remain alive and we saw they were up and about after a few days,” he stated.
The Iranian released detainee added “When we asked the 3 what had happened they said they themselves couldn’t tell how all the bullets that were shot around them would not injure them. Of course we knew that this has been one of those hundreds of instances when God bestowed his help upon us.”
