Mo’allem to Publish Memories of Nasrollah Mardani

TEHRAN April 7 (Mehr News Agency) -- Iranian writer and poet, Ali Mo’allem Damghani, will publish his memories of the late contemporary poet Nasrollah Mardani in the near future.

Mardani was hospitalized in Tehran suffering from cancer, but despite his illness, he asked his family to take him to visit the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS). On March 9, 2004, he died in Karbala at the age of 56.

Nasrollah Mardani was born in 1947 in Kazerun, Fars Province. He used his brilliant talent in poetry, composing poems on the themes of Islamic values, the Islamic Revolution, Sacred Defense, and the holy Imams.

Speaking at the eighth meeting entitled Poetry Reviews of Imagination Blooms in Qom, Ali Mo’allem said that nothing so far has been documented on the life of this great Iranian poet.

Calling on young poets to enhance their general knowledge, Mo’allem said that poets should be completely familiar with the styles, the techniques, and the language of their own poems.

He went on to say that some innovations in poems are not rational. They make the poem senseless. According to him, innovations should improve the language of poems.
