Iran will take part in the competitions with four judokas. They are as follow:
Mehdi Hadiha in the 60-kg class, Hojjat Rahnama in the 90-kg class, Mojtaba Nikbin in the 100-kg class and Mojtaba Ahmadzadeh in the +100-kg class.
The team will be headed by Ata Abbasnejad and Yunes Karimian in the championship.
The previous edition was held in the Dominican Republic in 2006.
