The volume of commercial trade exchanges between Iran and Turkey will rise from 1.5 billion dollars to four billion dollars in coming years, the Turkish Minister of Trade and Industry Ali Coskun said on Sunday.

"Iran debating gas export to Europe with Romania, Bulgaria"

Deputy Oil Minister for International Affairs Hadi Nejad-Hosseinian said on Sunday that Iran has formed joint working groups with Romania and Bulgaria to debate implementation of a plan to transfer Iran’s gas to Europe, adding that Iran had formed the groups to study the details of the gas transit.

"Single consignment oil exports to N Europe to cease"

Following the decision of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to curb output, Iran’s exports of single consignments of oil to northern Europe, which amounts to 90,000 barrels per day, will cease by November 1, Deputy Director of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) for International Affairs Hojjatollah Ghanimifard said on Sunday.

Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh has lambasted Saudi Arabia and Kuwait for their reported activities to develop the Arash oil field they jointly share with Iran, stressing that any measure to that effect must be stopped.

"Iran to hold tender for development of 16 oil blocs"

Iran is planning to hold a tender for the development of 16 oil blocs by the end of the current Iranian calendar year of 1382 (ending March 19, 2004), Eskandar Bavarian, an advisor to the managing director of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), said on Sunday.

MP Nouroddin Pirmoazzen has said that the Majlis will impeach Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh if the reported bribery by the Norwegian oil company Statoil to an Iranian firm is proved.

Iran is considering to leave the development and exploitation of seven oil fields it jointly shares with its neighbors, particularly with Iraq, to international corporations through negotiations or "limited tenders".

Iran to Remove 40 Dilapidated Planes from Aviation Fleet”

Iran’s Ministry of Roads and Transportation is considering to remove 40 dilapidated planes from its aviation fleet. The ministry is also planning to buy as much as 6,809 new seats as part of its plans to revitalize Iran’s aviation fleet.

“Oil Official Suggests Iran Quit OPEC”

Hojjatollah Ghanimifard, the director of International Affairs Department of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), said on Sunday that Iran should quit the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) if the organization fails to consider equal rights for all its members. Ghanimifard said if Iran is not able to implement the reforms that it has considered for OPEC within its long-term interests, it should quit the oil cartel.

Iran, Saudi Arabia to Establish Joint Foreign Investment HQ”

Deputy Minister of Economy and Financial Affairs Mohammad Khazaee said on Sunday that Iran has accepted a proposal to establish a joint foreign investment headquarters with Saudi Arabia.

“Iran Inflation at 16.6 Percent Over September 2002-2003”

The Central Bank of Iran (CBI) in a report on Sunday stressed that the rate of Iran’s inflation reached to as high as 16.6 percent over a period of one year from August 21, 2002 – 2003, stressing that this indicated an increase of 14.6 percent compared to the same period the previous year.
