The Iranian Embassy in Moscow said in a statement that "On Friday, October 3, 2025, our country's Ambassador to Russia, Kazem Jalali, met and held talks with Sergei Ryabkov, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia for Relations with North and South American Countries, Cooperation with BRICS Countries, and International Security."
"In the meeting, cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation in international bodies, as well as the BRICS group, was discussed and views were exchanged on."
Jalali referred to the illegal actions of the three European countries in abusing international mechanisms, saying that "Europe's inaction towards its JCPOA obligations began when the United States withdrew from the multilateral agreement, and by transforming the snapback mechanism into a mechanism to reward the first violator of the JCPOA, the United States, it completed its breach of promise to the Iranian nation and the weakness of its international position."
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Ryabkov, for his part, called the move of the three European countries to return the sanctions resolutions against Iran invalid, saying that "The Russian Federation has repeatedly stated its clear and explicit position regarding this illegal process in the form of statements by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and statements by representatives of the diplomatic service. This action by the West showed that they do not care about the content of the Security Council resolutions and have a selective and instrumental approach."
In the meeting, following up on the agreements and deepening cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation within the framework of the BRICS group were emphasized.
