Kan'ani dismissed the baseless accusation leveled by the British government saying that Iran had nothing to do with the Yemeni army attacks in the Red Sea.
"Such allegations are made in line with certain political goals and indicate the efforts of the British authorities to turn the realities of the region upside down and it also shows that they are influenced by third parties, including the child-killing Zionist regime," the Iranian spokesman added.
He further condemned the counterproductive statements and actions of some British officials, describing them as "a threat to regional and international peace and stability."
He emphasized that "As we have clearly stated before, the Resistance groups in the region do not receive orders from the Islamic Republic of Iran to confront and respond to the war crimes and genocide of the child-killing Zionist regime. These groups decide and act based on their own principles and priorities and the interests of their country and people."
Kan'ani advised the British authorities to condemn the crimes of the occupying Zionist regime instead of making baseless accusations and spend their efforts on stopping the war crimes of this regime against the citizens, women and children of Palestine and on facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid according to international regulations and responsibilities.
The Yemeni armed forces said on Sunday that they had targeted two more Israeli ships in the Red Sea.
Also last month on November 19, the Yemeni army naval forces boarded a commercial ship believed to be ultimately owned by a major Israeli businessman with links to the Tel Aviv regime.
