5 killed, 8 injured in bus-car collision in Pakistan's Punjab

TEHRAN, Nov. 12 (MNA) – At least five people were killed and eight others injured on Sunday in a collision between a bus and a car in Faisalabad district of Pakistan's eastern Punjab province, the rescue service reported.

The rescue service said that the accident took place on Khurrianwala road when a passenger bus hit a car that suddenly came from a link road, Xinhua reports.

Following the collision, the bus crossed the road divider, hit a tractor trolley on the other side of the road, and eventually hit a roadside hotel, resulting in the death of four people present in the car and a bus driver on the spot, it added.

The rescuers reached the site after the accident and shifted five injured bus passengers to the hospital while three were given first aid, said the rescue service.

Reportedly, the ill-fated bus was going from Punjab's provincial capital city of Lahore to Kohistan district in the country's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
