It had been closed for reconstruction work, which was carried out in close cooperation with the Iranian Embassy in Dushanbe.
The museum features artworks of the 2700 year-old city of Kulyab, books by Mir Seyyed Ali Hamedani, calligraphy works, and Iranian traditional pots.
“The Kulyab museum obviously illustrates the cultural and historical affinities shared by Iran and Tajikistan. It is necessary for both Iranians and Tajiks to protect their history and culture,” Iran’s charge d'affaires in Tajikistan, Babak Sherkat Ardebili, said during the opening ceremony.
Tajik officials expressed appreciation for Iran’s cooperation in the reconstruction of the museum.
Mir Seyyed Ali Hamedani was born in Hamedan.
The 14th century philosopher is buried in Kulyab.
The tomb of Mir Seyyed Ali Hamedani was also reconstructed by Iranian architects in Kulyab a few years ago.
The Iranian city of Hamedan and Kulyab are sister cities.
One street and one cultural center in Kulyab have been named after Hamedan, and one library and one cultural center in Hamedan have been named after Kulyab.
