Iran able to “easily” restore its nuclear conditions: Salehi

TEHRAN, Nov. 28 (MNA) – Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi said that Iran is “easily” able to reach the level of nuclear capability which it had before signing the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Not only restoring the previous capabilities, but also Iran can take major steps beyond, he added.

Salehi made the remarks on Tuesday in an interview with Euronews Persian.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution orders AEOI on June 4 to make the necessary arrangements to reach 190,000 SWU, he said, highlighting that the organization has executed this order. “But this doesn’t mean that we want to enrich uranium, but rather, it means we are ready for it.”

He went on to say that if any order is issued for putting an end to JCPOA, “we can easily restore [the previous level] and it is not a bluff.”

Elsewhere he said that both Iran and Europe are putting efforts to preserve the deal, maintaining, “if we can save JCPOA in current circumstances, it can pave the ground for increasing bilateral ties with EU in economic, cultural and scientific realms.” The United States is a barrier that both Iran and Europe should cross, he added.
