Zarif condemns terror attack on Pittsburgh synagogue

TEHRAN, Oct. 29 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has condemned the Sat. terrorist attack on a Pittsburgh synagogue, a Jewish house of worship in western Pennsylvania, which left 11 people dead.

“Extremism and terrorism know no race or religion, and must be condemned in all cases,” wrote Zarif in a tweet on Monday.

“The world deserves better than to have to live with weaponized demagoguery. Thoughts and prayers with victims of terrorist attack on Pittsburgh synagogue and their loved one,” he added.

A Pennsylvania man, Robert Bowers, stormed a Pittsburgh synagogue on Saturday and opened fire, killing 11 people, and injuring six others, four of whom were police officers. Federal prosecutors have filed hate crime charges against Bowers, and he could face the death penalty if he is convicted.
