Iran, Italy hold 3rd round of cultural talks in Rome

TEHRAN, Jun. 19 (MNA) – The 3rd round of cultural dialogues between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Italy dubbed "Religious extremism and Solutions” was held in Rome.

The conference, held in ‘Turkani Encyclopedia Foundation’ on Monday, was attended by cultural figures and Academicians from Iran and Italy.

At the start of the event, the Chairman of Iran’s Islamic Culture and Communication Organization Abouzar Ebrahimi Torkaman addressed the attendees and concentrated his speech on the extremism, its origins and solutions for it.

The participants at the one-day event which was held through the efforts of Iran’s cultural attache in Rome underlined that the phenomenon of extremism has a social cultural nature, then there should be social and cultural solutions for it.

They also stressed that there should be more cooperation and discussion between academic centers and intellectual elites as well as more public awareness to effectively fight against the phenomenon.

Participants in this round of talks came to a joint conclusion to continue the cultural dialogue between Iran and Italy and expand it to Europe with the aim of attracting the cooperation of other countries and forming a common think tank between Muslim and European elites.
