“Hayat” to liven up London children’s filmfest

TEHRAN, Oct. 14 (MNA) – Iranian film “Hayat” directed by Gholamreza Ramezani is to be screened at the London Children’s Film Festival begins on November 9.

The movie “Chicken Little” directed by Mark Dindal and “Shining Boy and Little Randy” directed by Shunsaku Kawage are scheduled to be displayed at the exhibition’s opening and closing gala respectively.

 

Twenty two countries will participate in the event which will run until November 20.

 

Several movies including Mohammad-Ebrahim Moayyeri’s “The Butterflies Are Just a Step Behind”, Craig Clyde’s “The Derby Stallion”, Byambasuren Davaa’s “The Cave of the Yellow Dog”, Torun Lian’a “The Color of Milk”, John Henderson’s “Greyfriars Bobby”, Geoff Bennett’s “Hating Alison Ashley”, and Franny Armstrong’s “McLibel” will also be screened at the exhibition.

 

A ceremony in commemoration of a fairytale writer Hans Christian Andersen and also different work shops are to be held on the sideline sections of the event.

 

The London film festival is sponsored by several British cinematic figures including Clive Owen, Catharine Tate, Jim Broadbent, Samantha Morton, and Beeban Kidron.

 

“Hayat” is a village boy who has to take the exam for the regional boarding school students. But his father falls sick and becomes unconscious, so Hayat has to take care of his 7-year-old brother and his one-year-old sister. Hayat tries to leave the little Nabat with a village family and reach the exam session. He meets obstacles at every point as the story goes on.
