Iranian, Chinese navy vessels to conduct joint drill

TEHRAN, Jun. 17 (MNA) – A joint military exercise between navy vessels of Iran and China will be held on Sunday in the Strait of Hormuz.

The Chinese Navy fleet, which moored at Bandar Abbas port on Thursday morning, will take part in a joint naval drill together with Iran’s Navy ships in waters of Islamic Republic of Iran.

The exercise is slated to be attended by navy flotillas of Iran and China on Sunday in the Strait of Hormuz between the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.

During the one-day event, the two sides will display their military capabilities and share their experiences.

Comprising Chang Chun destroyer, Chao Hu replenishment, Jin Zhou frigate and a helicopter, the Chinese fleet is staying in Iranian southern port of Bandar Abbas aiming to strengthen friendly relations between Tehran and Beijing as well as to promote maritime collaborations.
