Syrian army downs ISIL reconnaissance aircraft in Deir Ezzor

DEIR EZZOR, May 02 (MNA) – An army unit shot down an ISIL reconnaissance aircraft near the eastern barricade of Deir Ezzor airport and destroyed a bulldozer in al-Makabbat area south of the city, SANA reporter said.

The reporter added that on the southern side of the city, the army units clashed with ISIL terrorists in al-Maqaber area, killing and injuring a number of them and destroying their weapons and ammunition.

Terrorist Ahmad al-Jenin, one of the Takfiri terrorist organization’s leaders was identified among the killed.

The reporter pointed out that the army units carried out intensive bombardments on the terrorists’ fortified position and movement axes in al-Thardah mountain, al-Tharda valley, al-Tharda junction, and al-Arfi neighborhood, inflicting direct losses upon terrorists in personnel and equipment.

Meanwhile, according to a military source, army units destroyed 4 vehicles and two command centers for Jabhat al-Nusra in Daraa al-Balad, Buser al-Harir and Jeninin in Allajt area.
