Iran, Russia, Hezbollah in Syria on gov't. official request

TEHRAN, Dec. 22 (MNA) – Iran’s deputy FM underlined the need to further expand political and economic ties between Iran and Syria.

Jaberi Ansari made the remarks in his meeting with Syrian Foreign Minister Wald Muallem on Thursday in Damascus.

Iranian official congratulated the victory gained in Aleppo by Syrian government and urged more cooperation to help settle the crisis down in Syria through political means. He also underlined the need to expand Iran-Syria ties further in economic and political fields.

Syrian foreign minister, for his part, emphasized Syria’s will to continue the anti-terrorism policy and condemned the support for terrorists by some states.

“The contribution made by Russia, Iran and Hezbollah to the battle grounds in Syria is on the official request of Syrian government and no country has the right to compare it to the illegal existence of terrorists in this country,” Muallem said.

He also deemed Moscow trilateral meeting a positive move expressing hope that the governments that had imposed such cruelty and grief on Syrian nation would change their approach and policies.
