Certain regional countries seek to impede Iran’s progress

TEHRAN, Dec. 16 (MNA) – Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, while noting that, some regional states are after creating barriers to Iran’s development, stressed that the country is making headway through prudence and wisdom.

Larijani made the remarks while addressing a conference entitled 'Prophet of Mercy; Harbinger of Unity' held in Gonbad city in the northern Iran province of Golestan and attended by Shia and Sunni scholars.

He deemed the current point in time as the most sensitive and decisive one over the past decades; “Iran enjoys a wise Leader and the Islamic Revolution is making progress.”

“Enemies’ effort to create obstacles for Iran is futile since the country is on the right track thanks to the guidance of the Leader.”

Referring to regional issues, Ali Larijani asserted that, as a result of crises, infrastructure conditions in Iraq and Syria have become deplorable since regional capacities are vanishing with the blame being on Israel.

Criticizing certain Islamic states for cooperating with the Zionist regime, he said that they provided Israel with information covertly during the 33-day war.

Iran’s Parliament speaker however recalled that regional developments awakened Muslims to the fact that they should stand united and Sunnis realized that they should push aside hardliners and this was the great achievement of the region.

He further said Leader of Islamic Revolution acts like a pillar permeating unity in the country; “the Iranian Leader offered constructive views while the country was undergoing international and nuclear crises.”

Later in his remarks, Larijani also pointed to the problems faced by northern Iranian cities calling for investment in the oil and gas sector in the Caspian Sea, despite ongoing financial strains.
