Deputy Foreign Minister for Euro-American Affairs Majid Takht-Ravanchi, who is in Oslo under the framework of the sixth round of Iran-Norway political negotiations, made a speech at the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) addressing a meeting of intellectuals and foreign ambassadors based in Norway.
Takht-Ravanchi described the challenges in the Middle East, the nuclear deal as well as cooperation between Iran and Norway; “Iran’s nuclear agreement could significantly impact the trend of crisis in the region as well as Iran’s effective participation in the fight against ISIL which is rooted in terrorism and extremism," he emphasized.
He underlined that the nuclear deal and removal of sanctions have paved the way for bilateral ties between the two countries stressing “in view of the current recession in the global economy, sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran had caused pressures on many countries; thus, lifting of the sanctions could help with the economic growth of countries.”
Iran’s Deputy FM evaluated the nuclear deal with the 5+1 group as an effective model for resolving international issues.
At the end of the session, Takht-Ravanchi responded to questions of researchers and ambassadors on regional and international issues.
