Reza Jafarzadeh told reporters on Tuesday prominent US and EU airplane manufacturers would arrive in Tehran in the upcoming weeks; “air transportation is an industry badly hit by three decades of sanctions and international pressures. The Islamic Republic of Iran however enjoys the highest rate of growth in air transportation in the Middle East, thanks to its location in a strategic geographic place, hosting flights of two major clusters of airlines, Asia-Pacific and Europe with lion’s share in global aviation,” Jafarzadeh detailed. “We have excellent conditions to serve passing airlines, to shorten routes, providing air security, and hence have an attractive market for foreign investments.”
“Now removal of sanctions has opened the way for giants in international aviation industry to Iranian unexplored markets; the JCPOA implementation will definitely bring about development of the air transportation industry which would hit a considerable growth rate in the industry through exploiting the potentials dormant so far,” he told reporters. “With bans on export of planes and plane parts to Iran, now European and American giants (notably Airbus and Boeing) provide a broader and promising prospects for Iran’s tourism industry; based on these hopes, we will held the First International Conference on Iranian Aviation January 24-25 after 35 years where 200 industry moguls, experts, and the heads of prestigious airlines of the world will sit to discuss the ways to Iranian markets,” Jafarzadeh said.
“The event, ‘Iranian Aviation 2016,’ is organized by joint efforts of Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA) and will provide excellent grounds for cooperation of Iran’s aviation and international aviation industry in refurnishing and development of the industry as an important instrument for economic growth,” he concluded.
