Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh met with the visiting Hungarian foreign minister urging expansion of economic cooperation between the two countries by seeking proper venues since current relations are not satisfactory.
“Boosting of ties should to be carried out in the form of a clear and pre-planned framework hence it is needed to provide the proper ground for friendly relations between the two sides leading to extension of economic ties,” added Nematzadeh.
He further underlined that Iran’s industrial policy towards foreign companies interested in investing in Iran pertains to joint ventures, export to target countries as well as new investment in the domestic market; “therefore, Hungary can also take full advantage of the presented opportunities to the international community,” noted industry minister.
The official further enumerated possible areas for expansion of relations between the two countries including use of Iranian technology in manufacturing steel pipes, aluminum, machine building industries, agriculture, water supplies, medical devices, petrochemical and telecommunications.
“Iran and Hungary can hold joint exhibitions presenting economic achievements and exploit their capacities in line with development of economic ties,” said Nematzadeh adding “meanwhile, cooperation with Iranian research centers can benefit Hungary as well.”
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Peter Szijjarto, for his part, urged holding of a joint economic commission as soon as possible adding “Hungary seeks improvement of relations, development of cooperation as well as investments leading to reinvigorating of economic and trade relations.”
“Hungary’s priorities include development of cooperation in the fields of energy, improvement of water management and irrigation equipment, telecommunications, medical equipment, medicine, training and higher education, petrochemicals as well as agriculture,” concluded Szijjarto.
