Reds win to move up in table

TEHRAN, Nov. 22 (MNA) – The 12th round of Iran’s Pro League of Soccer wrapped up with Red’s first-time-in-the-season half-top position in the table.

Reds’ listless 1-0 victory over the bottom rooted Ahvazis moved them up from 9th to the 7th in the table signaling a time of revival for the giants who started the season in trouble.

Persepolis of Tehran lined up against Esteghlal of Ahvaz at Azadi Stadium of the capital city in a home event which kicked off at 4:20 pm local time. The fixture was the eighth and last event of the 12th round.

The hosts lead the event at the twentieth minute of the match with goal scored by Mehdi Taromi and preserved the lead till the end of the game.

 Now after twelve rounds and with a total of 18 points, the reds are 7 points adrift of the top of the table residing at the 7th place.
