During a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting in New York on Monday, Rouhani underlined that JCPOA paved the way for the expansion and deepening of cooperation between the two countries in every fields.
He reiterated that public opinion and many governments have come to the conclusion that if Middle East issues, including terrorism, are not resolved, other regions will also gradually face serious problems.
Vladimir Putin, for his part, underlined his country's will in removing the oppressive sanctions imposed by the West against Iran.
He said Iran's right for making peaceful use of nuclear energy and removal of oppressive sanctions is emphasized by Moscow.
Russian president expressed willingness for paying visit to Tehran in near future, and called for broadening of bilateral ties in economic, scientific and strategic areas.
President Putin described his Iranian counterpart's role in signing a nuclear agreement between Tehran and the 5+1 as superior, and also extended his condolences to President Rouhani on the occasion of death of Iranian pilgrims during Hajj pilgrimage in Mina, near Mecca in Saudi Arabia.
Russian president also called for mutual cooperation between Moscow and Tehran on fighting terrorism and restoration of regional and international security to a high level.
