Among the soccer clubs from Tehran, maybe Rah Ahan bagged the best result in the third week of Iran’s Pro Premier League of Football 2015-16, as they did not lose all the three points in an away match in Tabriz.
The third round was disastrous for Tehrani giants Esteghlal and Perspolis who along with last season’s title claimer Naft of Tehran lost their fixtures and in overall paved the path to the top of the table for Sepahan.
Now the table topper Sepahan of Isfahan were lagging behind Esteghlal of Tehran due to goal difference before Thursday when they temporarily ascended to the top with gaining the three points of the 4-2 encounter versus the reds of Tehran.
To the Isfahanis’ luck, their archrivals Zowbahan of Isfahan defeated the blues of Tehran 2-0 to cement Sepahan’s place on the top of the table.
The other surprise of the third round was what happened in Mashhad where Naft of Tehran were edge passed by Siah Jamegan of the city who had lost both of their previous fixtures in the 15th season of IPL.
In Qom city the head coach of Saba, Ali Daie is still falling short to expectations with three straight draws in the first three rounds of the competitions. Something that triggered his anger to fly off the handle and pick up at the referees.
