Qazvin to host intl. children’s toy festival

QAZVIN, Aug. 26 (MNA) –The director of Qazvin Municipality Cultural Organization has said the city will host 4th children’s toys and games festival.

Saeid Vazirnnejad who was talking to local press on Monday, said that the festival Children’s Toys, Past and Present will open on Thursday this week and would continue for ten days in Saad al-Saltaneh historical and cultural complex.

“3 rounds of festival have attracted about 300,000 visitors from Qazvin and international and domestic tourists, and we predict to have at least 100,000 people visiting the 4th festival,” he added.

Vazirinejad also said that the festival sought to introduce city’s historical monuments especially Sa’ad al-Saltaneh complex to children and teens and “to create a happy environment as this festival’s peculiarity compared to previous rounds.”

“An international section will display old toys from Turkey, Pakistan, Australia and Moldova along with Qazvin’s old toys; the section will reproduce indigenous games of these countries in the sidelines,” said Vazirinejad.

He pointed to a 760-square meter space for children to learn proper behaviors in city life such as traffic, waste separation, green space, environment, city identity, and tourism through specially-designed methods for children. “The space is called ‘A Heavenly Courtyard,’” he added.

“‘Heavenly Wishes,’ is a section specific to orphans; which presents the officials with wishes written by orphans on papers, known as ‘Sheet of Wishes,’ along with their names and addresses,” said the official.

Vazirinejad believed that International Biennial of Calligraphy in Qazvin would contribute much to 4th festival. “The biennial provides the opportunity for public and children to learn more about calligraphy as one of the major features of the city; famous calligraphy masters will also participate in the biennial and will present their art live during the festival,” he added.
