Syrian presidential elections begin

DAMASCUS, June 3 (MNA) – Syrian presidential elections start in the country and majority of Syrians participate.

Mehr News correspondent reports from Damascus that Syrians eligible to vote can cast their votes since 7 AM.

Majority of Syrians eligible to vote left their homes to the voting centers from early morning. Syrians in port city of Latakia, Homs, Aleppo, Damascus, Idlib, and Tartus swarmed the voting centers in the very beginning of the elections.

All provinces of Syria host the presidential elections except Ar-Raqqah which is under control of terrorists. Syrian government provides proper facilities for people in Ar-Raqqah to go to the neighboring provinces to participate in the election.

There are 23 million people living inside Syria and more than 15 million people have registered to participate who are eligible to vote.

9,601 voting center and 11,776 ballot boxes across the country would collect the votes.

9 delegations of different countries Iran, Russia, Lebanon, Bolivia, Venezuela, Philippines, Tajikistan, Zimbabwe and Uganda had already left to Syria to observe the elections.
