The director of the Chinese puppet show troupe said that Chinese stories are complicated due to their historical context.
These stories are from time immemorial and some parts of them are comic while at the same time other parts are tragic, which requires deep understanding on the part of the audience, he added.
He said he wished that the shows had been given more publicity, saying the audience was very small, although they enjoyed the performance.
He stated that the Iranian audience carefully watched the show and although they could not understand the Chinese language, they could understand the story and the movements of the puppets.
“Grocery Store”, “The Marriage of Two Bald People”, and “The Brave Woman” are some of the Chinese puppet show plays which are being staged at the 10th Tehran International Puppet Show Festival.
