Iran Shines in "RoboCup 2003"

TEHRAN, July 7 (Mehr News Agency) – Iran starred in "RoboCup 2003" in Padova, northern Italy, Sunday.

Representing Iran, a four-robot team from Isfahan University of Technology, beat Japan in the small-size soccer match 4-1.                  

   

It crushed the 2003 champion Germany 9-0 and overcame Australia and Portugal as well, squeezing into the quarterfinals.                           

   

Other Iranian teams of Iran participating in RoboCup 2003 are Tehran's Shahid Beheshti University, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Hamedan's Bu-Ali Sina and Qazvin's Azad University.                      

    

Some 250 teams from 34 countries are competing in the 10-day the small-, medium-size, and simulation leagues of "RoboCup 2003" which opened on July 1.
