Iran’s Jalili meets Azerbaijani counterpart

TEHRAN, Apr. 30 (MNA) – Iran’s Saeed Jalili has met with his Azerbaijani counterpart to discuss bilateral, regional and international developments.

Saeed Jalili highlighted the historical and cultural links between Iran and Azerbaijan and believed that threats and opportunities were effective in improving cultural, political, and economic cooperation between Tehran and Baku more than ever.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has prepared fully for expansion of ties and boosting relation between two countries, drawing upon its all capacities and experiences,” Jalili asserted, adding that the context for friendship was so deep that no one could disturb it.

The Supreme Leader’s representative in Supreme National Security Council also said that some western powers have been trying to destabilize other countries under pretext whatsoever to prepare the condition for their presence and seeking their own interests, “with examples seen in color revolutions and also in Syrian crisis.”

The Azerbaijan’s Secretary for National Security Council also highlighted the important role of the Islamic Republic of Iran as a neighboring and friend country in Azerbaijan’s foreign policy, and asserted that both Azerbaijani government and nation want to see Iran as a powerful and developed country, and “we see Iran’s progress in line with our national interests.”
