Iran starts mass production of advanced anti-armor missile

TEHRAN, July 7 (MNA) – Iran on aturday inaugurated the production line for the advanced laser-guided anti-armor missile named Dehlavieh.

During the inauguration ceremony, Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi said that the Dehlavieh missile is one of the most advanced anti-armor missiles capable of destroying advanced tanks, which are equipped with reactive armor.

He also said that the missile with its advanced guidance system is able to counter electronic warfare, adding that the enhanced features of the missile and its warhead have made it an efficient anti-tank weapon.

On the features of the launcher of the missile system, Vahidi said that the system has been designed to fire missiles at moving and fixed targets.

He also said that the missile can be used against low-flying and sea targets.

In addition, he said that the delivery of Dehlavieh missiles to the Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Ground Forces will significantly increase their capabilities to deal with armored military vehicles.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Vahidi said that during the year of national production (Iranian calendar year 1391 which started on March 20), the Defense Ministry will do its utmost to produce high quality domestically designed military systems and equipment and deliver them to the armed forces.
