West fears Iran will become a model for other countries

TEHRAN, Dec. 7 (MNA) -- Imposing unilateral sanctions on various institutions and individuals has become a new method to apply pressure on the Islamic Republic of Iran.

But this pressure is completely inconsistent with the original philosophy of sanctions as a tool for punishing countries that have failed to meet their international obligations.

The entity that most obviously deserves to have international sanctions imposed on it is the Zionist regime, which has committed numerous offences, including human rights violations and crimes against humanity. However, under the influence of the United States and its allies, the United Nations has always turned a blind eye to all the atrocities committed by the Israelis. And instead they are hypocritically imposing harsher sanctions on the Islamic Republic of Iran over its peaceful nuclear program.

Iran is a country that never tolerates bullying and discrimination. Since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, the Iranian people and government have courageously withstood all the international pressure in order to maintain their revolutionary stance at the international level. Iran’s bravery has inspired many other nations and has given rise to anti-Western sentiments in various countries.

Thus, the hegemonic powers have decided to apply more pressure on Iran in order to control this huge wave and discourage other countries from following the same path.

The sanctions, which supposedly only target the Iranian government and certain citizens, have actually undermined the economic rights of all the Iranian people. This is the reason why Iranian students gathered in front of the British Embassy in Tehran to protest against the imposition of unilateral sanctions on the Central Bank of Iran. And the demonstration was a clear sign of the popular dissatisfaction with the British government’s hostile policies toward the Iranian nation.

Britain and its allies should be aware that the wave of popular protests against their policies will continue in the future and will not be restricted to Iran.

Clearly, this animosity will never dissipate until Britain corrects its mistakes and recognizes the rights of nations.
