Turkey’s justice minister calls for ICC case against Israel

TEHRAN, May 04 (MNA) – Yılmaz Tunc, Turkey’s justice minister, has called on Karim Khan, the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), to complete an investigation into Israel’s crimes in the war in Gaza.

He said on X, “Preventing the crime of genocide is the raison d’être of the International Criminal Court. The culprits are clear, an investigation should be opened urgently, precautionary measures should be taken, and the criminals should be arrested.”

He added that the delay in the case encouraged Israel’s attacks, diminish the trust in the international law and made the ICC ineffective, Al Jazeera reported.

“If no action will be taken regarding the bombardment of refugee camps, when will it be taken?”

Israel waged a genocidal war on the besieged Gaza on October 7 after the Palestinian Hamas Resistance group carried out a historic operation against the occupying entity in retaliation for the regime’s intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.

At least 34,654 Palestinians have been killed and 77,908 wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza since October 7.

Israel has imposed a complete siege on the densely populated territory, cutting off fuel, electricity, food, and water to the more than two million Palestinians living there.
