Iranian beach volleyball team comprised of Abbas Pourasgari and Alireza Aghajanighasab accepted defeat against their rivals from Australia Paul Burnett and Jack Pearse 17-21, 18-21 in the final of the sporting event and stood in second place.
In the semifinal, the Iranian team won 2-1 against Thailand team A and advanced to the final match.
Iran had a great run in the tournament as they defeated India, Maldives, and Qatar in the preliminary stages. In the next stage, Iran also beat Japan team B, and Indonesia B to advance to the semifinal.
The AVC Beach Volleyball Tour “23rd Samila Open” was held in Songkhla, Thailand from April 13-16, 2024.
