Iran FM discusses ties, region with counterparts in Moscow

TEHRAN, Dec. 05 (MNA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Hossein Amir-Abdollahian held separate meetings with his counterparts from the Caspian Sea littoral states in Moscow on Tuesday.

In the meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, foreign minister of Iran Hossein Amir-Abdollhian said that "We have always benefited from Iran-Russia diplomacy."

Lavrov, for his part, said that,"Our resolve is to expand the relations between the two countries."

After their meeting, the two foreign ministers of Iran and Russia signed a declaration to vow that the two nation will jointly counter the consequences of unilateral coercive actions, namely the sanctions.

Prior to meeting with the Russian foreign minister, Amir-Abdollahian met with The foreign minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the two discussed bilateral relations and regional and international developments.

In a meeting with his Iranian counterpart in Moscow, Kazakhstan's foreign minister Murat Nurtleu called Iran one of the pillars of the Islamic world and expressed his country's interest in expanding relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran in various fields.

Meanwhile, the top Iranian diplomat met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov during which he described the recent meeting between the presidents of the two countries a new turning point in bilateral relations and said that cooperation in various fields is progressing well.
