New oil/gas found at Khami Layer in Ahvaz Oilfield

TEHRAN, Nov. 24 (MNA) - New oil and gas reserves have been discovered at the Khami Layer of Ahvaz Oilfield, the southwestern province of Khuzestan, in the past one year, an Iranian senior oil official told ISNA.

Moreover, Anar and Mansuri-Bangestan oilfields plus the Persian Gulf Kish gas field were discovered during the same period, said Gholam-Hossein Nozari, the managing director of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC).

 

Also, Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA) reported Nozari on Thursday as saying that the expected in-situ gas at Fahlian Reserve stands at 990 billion cubic feet of which 700 billion can be extracted.

 

He added that the expected in-place gas condensates at the reserve are estimated at 308 million barrels, noting, over 120 million barrels of the amount can be exploited.

 

The official was further reported that Darian Reserve has in-situ crude deposits estimated at 350 million barrels of which 54 million barrels can be produced. In addition, the reserve could offer 150 million cubic feet and 37,000 barrels of gas and condensate per day respectively.

 

Nozari stated that the gas produced from Darian Reserves can be used for the injection into the nearby fields as well.
