Iran condemns deadly terror attack on religious ceremony in Kabul

TEHRAN, Nov. 20 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi has strongly condemned a deadly suicide attack in the Afghan capital of Kabul, which killed and injured dozens of people and clerics.

“The hidden hands behind these cowardly terrorist operations have had no other goal but to provoke ethnic, sectarian and religious sedition,” Bahram Ghasemi said few hours after dozens of people were killed in a suicide bomb explosion targeting a large gathering of clerics in Afghanistan's capital, Kabul.

Ghasemi expressed his hope that the Afghan people, through maintaining unity and supporting their central government, and using their past experiences in the fight against terrorism, can overcome these difficult times of sinister terrorist acts and blatant violence with vigilance and take solid steps in consolidating stability and security in their country.

Ghasemi also voiced Iran's support to Afghanistan in the fight against terrorism.
