Araghchi stops JCPOA commission meeting in Vienna

TEHRAN, Dec. 13 (MNA) – After the Iranian delegation headed by Araghchi, Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, found out that the Iranian flag had been placed wrongly, they called the session off to have the flag re-installed.

Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, stopped the Joint Commission of JCPOA at the Palais Coburg Hotel in Vienna of Austria after the Iranian delegation realized that the national flag of Iran was inadvertently misplaced by the hotel staff, reported Iran’s state-owned official news agency (IRNA).

The regular quarterly JCPOA Joint Commission Meeting, was held in Vienna on Wednesday in the morning, with the representatives of the 5+1 and Iran at the level of Political Directors/Deputy Foreign Ministers.

The diplomats discussed the implementation of the nuclear deal in the meeting jointly chaired by Mr. Araghchi and Ms. Helga Schmid who is the Secretary General of European External Action Service (EEAS).
