Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, made the remarks on Wednesday morning while speaking at a public session of the Parliament. Araghchi’s speech came after the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission had presented a report implementation of the nuclear deal with the 5+1 group of countries.
Appreciating the moderate report by the Parliament Commission, Iran’s deputy FM said it had carefully taken into account and described both positive outcomes of the N-deal as well as instances of violation by the American side.
Araghci, while describing the report as a realistic one, said it demonstrated a clear image of America’s breach of promises and offered certain suggestions as how to respond to violations of the international agreement.
“Over the past 21 months, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has offered seven detailed reports to the Parliament recounting on all economic achievements and challenges resulting from the JCPOA.”
Among all challenges, the greatest one pertains to America’s sinister and ill intentions towards implementation of the N-deal, he underlined.
He said the atrocity was not limited to the incumbent US government as Americans had always sought to cap Iran’s benefits. “The most recent report of Foreign Ministry pinpoints all instances of violation in a comprehensive way which reveals insincerity of the US in carrying out the valid agreement.
“When it come to JCPOA implementation, the US spares no effort to reduce Iran’s interest as much as possible,” said Araghchi who later enumerated several instances of violations by the American side including restrictions on visa issuance, delaying licensing of aircraft exports, creating cumbersome banking rules, increasing non-nuclear sanctions, adding individuals to the sanction list, hostile statements by the US president as well as unconventional diplomatic measures like sending US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley to Vienna on put pressure in the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) which are all contrary to provisions of the agreement.
Iran’s deputy FM said United States was trying to create a negative atmosphere and prevent companies, banks, and businesses from engaging in economic activity with Iran and prevent investment by fostering an atmosphere of uncertainty.
The Foreign Ministry has forwarded ten letters to EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini in this regard, and the base of the report is on the continuation of sanction-era situation in areas of maritime transportation, oil and gas export, and the return of the revenues.
He later noted that recent moves by the US against the deal have been globally confronted as Americans have isolated in their wickedness and hostility against the Iranian nation and people, and the rest of the 5+1 members, in addition to Russia and China, are completely opposed to American policies.
“Any attempt to renegotiate the JCPOA by the US or other 5+1 members has been completely dismissed,” highlighted Araghchi saying “the whole world believes that the deal can be arbitrated only by the International Atomic Energy Agency they believes that Iran is committed to its obligations, an issue which has been confirmed by the IAEA for eight times.”
“The new US president’s policy of confronting the JCPOA has been denied by all countries which marks a great success of foreign policy and diplomacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
He said Iran was at the height of its power and authority and enjoyed very high regional authority which influences international and regional issues. “The country possesses defense and missile capabilities and has internal political stability.
“We have enough strength in the face of American hostilities. Countries in the world support Iran’s position. We are in direct contact with European countries and other countries. We only rely on our domestic capabilities,” he emphasized.
He said Iran was prepared for all circumstances as Foreign Ministry has anticipated all possible moves and made necessary arrangements.
“We confront the US in collaboration with other 5+1 member states though we are ready for any other scenario,” he concluded.
