US hostile acts in contrast with JCPOA spirit: Salehi

TEHRAN, Sep. 18 (MNA) –Iran’s Salehi the Head of the AEOI addressed the 61st Annual Regular Session of the IAEA General Conference in Vienna condemning the anti-deal acts of the US.

“According to numerous attestations of the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency), Iran has honestly and benevolently observed all its commitments outlined in the JCPOA,” articulated Ali Akbar Salehi, the Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), maintaining that all Iran’s nuclear activities are relevant to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action also known as the JCPOA.

He made the remarks while addressing the 61st Annual Regular Session of the IAEA General Conference on its opening day on Monday in Vienna.

“Iran’s nuclear activities are all practiced in the most transparent form with giving full and complimentary access to nuclear sites,” Salehi reiterated.

“One of the signatories of the deal has erected obstacles on the path of complete implementation of the JCPOA,” said the Iranian official, “I need to draw your attention to this important fact that all sides of the JCPOA with no exception are responsible about the agreement.” He underlined that Iran will continue putting the deal into practice as long as all sides are abiding to their commitments.

“Any move or measure to weaken or undermine the conditions outlined in the nuclear agreement, with any political motive or excuse will mar or endanger this historical achievement,” asserted Mr. Salehi, “and the harms won’t be just for the signatories of the agreement but for the whole international society.”

“Now I see it necessary to refer to some political measures of the US in the IAEA strangely calling for verification of Iran’s nuclear program which is beyond the conditions agreed in the nuclear deal,” highlighted the Iranian official, “the hostile approach of the US government with measures to mar the nuclear agreement and prevent Iran from enjoying the benefits of the agreement is in contrast with the spirit and letter of the JCPOA.”

“We still expect that the IAEA and the IAEA Director General not to bend to these unacceptable requests,” he voiced hope that the Agency will stay impartial in its role as technical supervisor. He called for protection of the information gathered from Iranian nuclear and industrial facilities.

Kicked off on Monday with the opening address of Director General Amano, the 61st IAEA General Conference in Vienna will last until September 22.
