Syrian army establishes full control over new strategic positions in Homs

HOMS, Aug. 26 (MNA) – Syrian Army units established full control over a number of strategic positions to the west of Manukh and north of al-Sukhnieh in the eastern countryside of Homs central Province after killing a number of ISIL terrorists and destroying their equipment.

Meanwhile, Syrian Arab Army units destroyed a cache of ammunition and a number of dens belonging to the ISIL terrorists in Deir Ezzor city and its countryside at a time when new ISIL-affiliated terrorist groups fled away from the fighting fronts.

SANA’s reporter in Deir Ezzor said that the army land units engaged in clashes with different types of heavy and light weapons with ISIL-affiliated terrorist groups in the neighborhoods of al-Howeiqa and al-Rashdiyeh and in the surroundings of the Airport.

The reporter added that a number of the ISIL terrorists were killed in the clashes and others were injured and their arms and ammunition were destroyed.

The Syrian Air Force carried out a number of airstrikes targeting ISIL positions in the surroundings of al-Panorama at the southwestern outskirts of Deir Ezzor city, destroying weapons’ depot and one of the ISIL main command centers.

The Syrian Air Force and Artillery inflicted heavy losses upon ISIL terrorist organization after bombarding its supply routes and positions in the neighborhoods of al-Hamidiyeh, al-Howeiqa and al-Rashdiyeh and in the villages and towns of Howeijet Saqer, al-Tibni, al-Shmaitiyeh, Aiyash, al-Kharita and al-Bhailiyeh.

Civil sources said that new ISIL-affiliated terrorist groups fled away from al-Bu Omar village, among them two of their leaders, terrorists Samir Dahham and Abdel Hamid al-Dairi.
