Syrian army kills 2200 terrorists in Hama over past 7 days

HAMA, Mar. 30 (MNA) – A military source announced that Syrian army units, in cooperation with the supporting forces, continued military operations in the northern countryside of Hama, where 2200 terrorists have been killed during that past 7 days.

The army restored a number of points in the direction of Souran and expanded their control in the vicinity of Maarzaf and northwest of Qamhana town towards the railway to the south of Tibet al-Imam, according to the military source. 

The source added that army units, supported by the air force, carried out strikes on sites and movements for Jabhat al-Nusra and terrorist groups affiliated to it in Atshan, Skeik, al-Tamaniaa, Soran, Tibet al-Imam, Maardis, al-Majdal, Qteish and Kafr Nabbouda in the same countryside.

The source revealed that during that past 7 days, 2200 terrorists of Jabhat al-Nusra were killed in the northern countryside of Hama, in addition to the destruction of 7 command centers, 15 tanks, 11 armored vehicles, 107 vehicles, 12 ammunition caches, 17 shell emplacements and 6 rocket launchers.

Among the dead were the terrorists: Mohammad Kamal al-Qassim (the military leader of the so-called “Idleb Free Army”), Abdul-Hamid al-Qadah (an official within the so-called “Jaish al-Ezza”), Ahed Ahsam (the military leader in the so-called “Tahrir al-Sham”), Mohammad Jihad Qassab (the leader of the artillery sector in the so-called “Tahrir al-Sham” and Abu Obaida al-Turkistani (the leader of the groups of Turkistan Party), in addition to a number of leaders of Gulf, Iraqi and Egyptian nationalities.

The army’s airstrikes also targeted terrorists’ sites in al-Habeit, Tal Hwash and al-Jabiriyeh in the countryside of Idleb, killing a number of terrorists and destroying their weapons.

Meanwhile,the army units carried out operations targeting gatherings and fortifications of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization and the groups affiliated to it in the northern countryside of Homs central province, killing a number of terrorists and injuring others.

The military source told SANA that army units killed all members of a terrorist group affiliated to Jabhat al-Nusra in Tal Abu al-Sanasel, 20 km to the north of Homs City.

The source added that a number of terrorists were killed and others were injured and their arms and ammunition were destroyed in operations carried out by the army against fortifications of the terrorist groups in the area of al-Dabbour and in Jawalak village.

Moreover,army units carried out special operations against positions and fortifications of the ISIL terrorists in the surroundings of al-Maqaber (cemeteries) area and the Regiment 137 on the southwestern outskirts of Deir Ezzor city.

The source added that 35 of the ISIL terrorists were killed in the operations, in addition to destroying 3 of their cars and four fortified positions of heavy machineguns.

Meanwhile, SANA’s reporter in Deir Ezzor said that the Syrian Air Force destroyed gatherings, fortifications, and dens for ISIL in the surroundings of Deir Ezzor Airport and in the areas of the factories and al-Makabat on the southern outskirts of the city.

The reporter indicated that an army unit carried out intensive bombardments against gatherings of the ISIL terrorists in al-Junaineh town in the western countryside, killing all members of a terrorist group and destroying their ammunition and military equipment.
