Syrian army establishes control on Kawkab town in Hama

HAMA, Mar. 26 (MNA) – A military source announced restoring peace and security to Kawkab town in the northern countryside of Hama central province after eliminating the terrorist groups which infiltrated into the town and perpetrated acts of sabotage and robbery.

The source told SANA on Saturday that army units, in cooperation with the backing forces, restored peace and security to Kawkab town and expanded their military operations on different directions in the northern countryside.

The source added that a large number of Jabhat terrorists were killed in the operations, in addition to destroying one of their command centers, two stores of arms and ammunition, 4 tanks, 6 armored vehicles and more than 9 machinegun-equipped vehicles.

Meanwhile, more 20 of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists were killed in the continued military operations carried out by the army against the Takfiri terrorist organizations in Daraa southern province.

A military source told SANA that army units carried out intensive operations against gatherings of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization and the terrorist groups affiliated to it on the road of Enkhil/Ethraya and to the east of al-Mleha al-Sharqyia, Ebta’a town and Daraa al-Balad area.

The source added that more than 20 terrorists were killed in the operations, in addition to destroying 3 of their command centers, a barricade, a machinegun, a SUV and a bulldozer belonging to the terrorist organizations.

Moreover,the Syrian Air Force carried out massive airstrikes against the ISIL terrorists’ positions and supplying routes  in Deir Ezzor province .

SANA reporter stated that the airstrikes targeted the surrounding area of the airport, al-Rushdiyeh neighborhood and al-Makabat area, killing many terrorists and injuring others in addition to destroying their fortifications.
