Bahraini scholars’ fatwa mandates support for Sheikh Qassim

TEHRAN, Jan. 28 (MNA) – Bahriani scholars have issued a fatwa which makes support for Sheikh Issa Qassim, a Shia religious leader, almost a religious duty which should be observed.

The statement urged the public to ‘shun the fear of death’ in coming to streets of Manama out of a religious duty and to remind a verse in the Noble Quran which was quoted in the statement:

“Those to whom hypocrites said, "Indeed, the people have gathered against you, so fear them." But it [merely] increased them in faith, and they said, "Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs." (3:173)

“The true life lies in an honorable death, death lies in life with humility; we cherish public’s observance of their national as well as religious duty, especially young revolutionaries who would spare not even their lives in seeking the assent of the God,” reads part of the statement. “The blood shed on earth is the most powerful force deriving the revolution; nothing would restore the glory of the Umma better than this derive and to bolster their quest for freedom and human dignity.”

The statement accuses the regime in Manama of crime especially in targeting and wounding Mustafa Hamdan, a member of a group of young revolutionaries; “the crime was commanded from the higher command line in the regime and the responsibility lies solely with the regime and British intelligence service which fosters it; supporting Issa Qassim is a religious duty to the last drop of blood for Bahraini public,” the statement emphasizes.

“Best response to the poltroons in the regime would be not to exceed the religious duty in action and all should participate in street rallies with observing absolutely peaceful demonstration principles; Sunday night, January 29, will be a new rendezvous for all, clad in white shroud, to participate in what will be a demonstration to ‘Defend Religion and Dignity,’” the statement concluded with quoting from the Noble Quran: “And Allah will surely support those who support Him. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might.” (22:40)
