Saudis go through fire to keep US support

TEHRAN, Sep. 25 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said some countries in the region are constantly going through fire and water not to lose US support.

Speaking among a gathering of Iranians in New York on Saturday, Zarif pointed to the perfect security in the Islamic Republic of Iran and said, "while the world is worried about the threat of chaos, extremism and terrorism in Middle East which is affecting the whole world, Iranian people are living in peace and security."

Zarif said the behavior of some regional countries such as Saudi rulers is like they go through fire and water not to lose US support; they constantly lobby with their American friends because they owe US all their legitimacy and credit.

Foreign Minister Zarif noted Iranian nation have never bowed to the pressure and threat because "our security is endogenous; however Saudis need foreigners to provide their own people with security."

Sanctions endangers people's lives but cannot isolate the Iranian people of their ideals and beliefs, Zarif noted, adding, "imposed sanctions made us reach positive economic growth despite ups and downs in oil prices."
