Konashenkov said that the main tasks of the center are to facilitate the negotiation process for reconciliation between the Syrian authorities and the opposition, except the ISIL, the Al Nusra Front and other terrorist groups, besides reaching agreements on the ceasefire and organizing the delivery of humanitarian assistance.
The source added that the representatives of the groups which decided to end the hostilities and start the peace talks can dial a single phone number and call Jmeimim for 24 hours and they will get help to organize contacts with the Syrian authorities.
The press service of the Defense Ministry also conformed that a representative of the military attaché of the United States in Moscow to give him the contact data through a hot line about the issue.
That was one of the instructions agreed Monday by the Presidents Vladimir Putin (Russia) and Barack Obama (USA) in a telephone conversation initiated by the Kremlin, as confirmed by Putin.
In a television broadcast address on Monday, Putin considered important for Moscow and Washington, as co-presidents of the International Syria Support Group, to be ready to launch an efficient mechanism to implement and control the ceasefire, both by the Syrian government and the opposition armed groups.
The violent opponents and the Syrian Armed Forces that want to participate in the cessation of hostilities must notify Russia or the United States until 12:00 (Damascus time) of Feb.26 and accept a group of conditions.
The agreement signed by Moscow and Washington establishes the start of the ceasefire in Syria from Feb.27 at 00:00 local time, according to the joint text.
The Government of Damascus informed in a statement quoted by the Sana news agency that the Syrian authorities will accept the ceasefire agreed by Moscow and Washington if the anti-terrorist fight continues.
