Iranian university students’ 3X3 basketball which had reached the semi-final on the second day of Asian Universities Games in Chinese city of Shenyang, could beat Mongolia 16-14 and stood on the third place of the event.
Although the Iranian student basketball players were defeated in their first match against Kazakhstan 18-12, they showed resilience and won their next encounters.
In its previous plays, the Iranians defeated Hong Kong team 12-4 and won the next match against Makao 21-14. Iranian students also lined against the second team of China and defeated the hosts 15-14 in a fierce fight.
China and Mongolia stood first and second, respectively, in the Asian Universities Games.
As the first edition of Asian Universities 3X3 Basketball, the event concluded on September 18.
