China president's visit to US to expand pragmatic links

BEIJING, Sep. 13 (MNA) – The visit of the President of China Xi Jinping to the US by the end of this month will expand pragmatic cooperation in various fields, predicted the State Adviser Yang Jiechi in a statement.

China's State Adviser Yang Jiechi made those statements during a meeting in Beijing on Friday with Amy Gutmann, President of the University of Pennsylvania in the United States.

The Minister of State mentioned that the institution has played an active role in the cooperation with China over the years.

He hoped that the American university continues to contribute to exchanges between persons and bilateral cooperation in the education sector.

Gutmann, meanwhile, said the links between Beijing and Washington are crucial for peace and prosperity of both countries, the Asia Pacific and the whole world.

The University of Pennsylvania and other institutions of higher education in the United States are excited by the visit of President Xi, he expressed.

This educational center, headquarters in Philadelphia, is one of the oldest higher education institution in United States.
